About Me
Azo Safo is a celebrated, versatile actor and writer based in Los Angeles, whose work ranges from the stage to the small screen.
Her solo show “I Heart Maroc” has been praised for being an “inspiring, terrific and heartfelt” play, with Azo’s performance noted for having “flawless timing.” The play was nominated for a Broadway LA Regional Award for Best Solo Production and won the Hollywood Fringe Festival’s Best of Broadwater award.
Azo has performed the play at numerous festivals, including the Binge Fringe Festival at Santa Monica Playhouse, the NAMBA Women’s Voices Festival and the Playground San Francisco Theatre Festival of New Works.
Among other projects, Azo served as the artistic director of Play Club West, and was featured in a series of training videos for the Los Angeles County CalFresh program, as well as in a television commercial for QVC.
She has been a featured actor and writer in the Support Women Artists Now (SWAN) Day world-wide theater festival multiple times. And, she co-wrote and directed the short thriller/horror film “Picture Perfect” for the 48 Hour Film Festival.
Azo is currently putting her writing talents to work in sketch comedy, and in developing scripts for film and TV.
